We read an article in this morning’s Independent that stated that charity giving fell by £70million last year due to the bite of the recession. We’re all aware of the cuts to the charity sector, but how can we help?
The Philanthropy Review Report outlined ideas such as better education of fundraising in schools and making payroll giving easier in businesses, but if wallets are already tight, this may not be enough. However, with Give as you Live, people don’t have to give up on being charitable, as they can donate simply through their online shopping. No extra donation is needed and it’s available to anyone.
We hope that Give as you Live can start to help increase funds to the charity sector and fill the £70million hole that we are worried will keep growing.
