Get together with family, friends or colleagues to help people living with a terminal illness. Throwing a tea party is as easy as pie, and once you’ve bid farewell to your guests, paying in the money you’ve raised is simple to do.
What does Marie Curie do?
They’re here to help people living with any terminal illness and their families, offering expert care, guidance and support to help them get the most from the time they have left. Marie Curie also help with people who need Palliative care because living with a terminal illness where a cure is no longer possible. Palliative care aims to treat or manage pain and other physical symptoms. It will also help with any psychological, social or spiritual needs.
Your cups of tea and a slices of sponge cake can make a difference to people living with a terminal illness.
And it’s easy as pie to take part… Just by picking a location, inviting your guests, baking the cakes and watching those generous donations roll in!

John Lewis will be donating to Marie Curie via products you can buy, including Yellow Wallflower, the new range from Emma Bridgewater and the exclusive Paul Thurlby-illustrated mugs which 10% of the sale price from items from that range to Marie Curie from 23 – 25th June.
How will you make the difference?
- £20 will pay for and hour of nursing care for a person living with a terminal illness in their own home.
- £70 will pay for Two slide sheets, essential equipment used by our nurses to move someone living with a terminal illness safely.
- £180 will pay for a Marie Curie Nurse to look after someone with a terminal illness for a full nine-hour shift through the night.
