Most people know Karen Millen as a fashion designer. But after 20 years in the fashion industry she decided that she wanted to explore new directions and since then she has devoted a massive amount of time to helping teenagers going through treatment for cancer.
In 2007 Karen co- founded Teens Unite Fighting Cancer, the charity is dedicated to improving the lives of young people aged between 13-24. She speaks of the charity work on their website.
“I cannot begin to imagine how I would cope if any one of my three children, two of which are teenagers, were to be diagnosed with Cancer. They are at their prime of life with everything to live for, but the reality is, it could happen to any one of them at any time.
“If they were unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with cancer, then where better place for them to be able to spend some time amongst other teenagers sharing the same problems, where they can share their thoughts and experiences. There is a great deal to be gained from mutual support and understanding. A positive mind is proven to overcome some of life’s biggest fears.”
One of the items listed is the Louis Vuitton Architecture & Interiors book from Foyles, who donate up to 3.5%
