Large Coastal Handmade Ceramic Vase
A beautiful large vase with glorious blues inspired by the sea, finished with a unique strip of sand down the seam. This large vessel is inspired by the walk along the coast when the sun is out and the waves lapping aShow moregainst the shore. The wide variety of blues with speckles of white bring back the memories of the colours you once saw on that wonderful day. Feel the texture, the sand down the seam, a memory of a wonderful day. Its size means it can be used for a wide variety of things. A way of displaying those found objects, a quirky addition to the bathroom, a statement to stand on that shelf, the possibilities are endless. Made from: Each piece is made from my unique blend of recycled paper pulp and clay. This unusual mixture is poured on to a slab that has been decorated using coloured slip as a drawing tool that I use to explore my memories of childhood and trips to the British coast. Once formed, unwashed sand is added to enhance the spirit of the coast whilst giving texture to the piece. Pieces are also glazed inside before firing and so can hold water. While in the kiln, the paper is burnt away leaving fantastic textures. Each piece is handmade, signed and though not perfectly cylindrical, is very much unique and would make a lovely reminder of sunny days, holidays and beaches. Please note: All ceramics are made by hand and not in any way by a mould. Also, due to the nature of the clay and decoration pieces are meant to feel rough. This item is not dishwasher safe.
