On a bright windy autumnal day we were delighted to be invited into the HQ of Shell on the Southbank, overlooking the London Eye.
It is here that we encouraged all the staff at Shell to support their charity partner Starehe UK, by asking them to sign the pledge to download Give as you Live and raise £50 for the charity when shopping online this Christmas.
With Give as you Live thousands of stores will donate a percentage of whatever you spend online to the charity of your choice. This a great way for all staff at Shell to get involved, without taking up any of their time or indeed asking them to put their hands in the pockets. All they need to do is shop online as they would normally, and it won’t cost them a penny extra.
To follow is a short video which was recorded by the Chairman of Starehe UK. Every penny raised for this charity has an impact of the lives of young people in Kenya.
Starehe comprises two exceptional schools, providing a home and a first-class education for bright boys and girls from impoverished backgrounds, free of charge. It is unique in instilling a firm sense of duty, and in inspiring former pupils to lead exemplary lives across all walks of Kenyan society: from politics to medicine; from education to the media.
You will see in the photo to the left Malin Rosenkvist, who is the StareheFuture Appeal Co-ordinator sharing the Christmas for Good message yesterday.
With Christmas just around the corner this is perfect timing. If you would like to get involved simply go to the charity website www.starehe.org and click the Shop for us button to download Give as you Live. Easy peasy.
