Baby Loss Awareness Week

The death of a baby is not a rare event. It can happen to anyone. Every year, thousands of people in the UK are affected by the death of a baby or experience pregnancy loss.

Throughout the week bereaved parents, their families and friends, unite with each other and others across the world to commemorate the lives of babies who died during pregnancy, at or soon after birth and in infancy.

Now in its 20th year, Baby Loss Awareness Week calls for tangible improvements in research, care and policy around bereavement support and highlights bereavement support and services available for anyone affected by the death of a baby at any stage.

How you can get involved and raise vital funds via Give as you Live:

Discover Elle and Teddy's Story

With an Instagram following of nearly 100k, Elle's journey of learning to navigate through life following the loss of her son Teddy just three days after birth has captured the hearts of the nation.

Elle's passion for her home became her lifeline and, with a little help from the adorable Boris the Pug, she has now written a beautiful book detailing her experiences of living motherhood she simply never expected.

Ask Me His Name is a moving account of Elle's pregnancy, Teddy's life, and what happens when a mother leaves a hospital with empty arms. In the UK, 1 in 4 pregnancies end in premature death, but conversations about the heartbreakingly frequent issue of baby loss are few and far between.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book with be donated to the charity, Tommy's. Shop via Waterstones on Give as you Live Online and you can raise a further donation for FREE for your chosen charity.
