How can you raise money using Give as you Live if you’re not a big online spender?

workstationeryWe’re often asked how people who don’t buy a lot of personal items can better utilise Give as you Live. There’s one simple answer – at work!

There are lots of ways to get your Give as you Live contributions to add up for your chosen charity.  One of our favourites is when we purchase the regular stationery order for Give as you Live HQ, it costs us absolutely nothing extra, and it still does good.

We try to be paperless as much as possible but, as in every office, it’s still necessary to have a few reams each time for printing, along with making sure we have the essentials available such as pens, notepads, staples, envelopes etc.   Our supplier also provides the tea and coffee, and there is the occasional need for something a bit different, such as wall planners or storage boxes for the year end files.

A recent order for £266.38 from Staples raised £7.99 (3%) for charity.  If you don’t usually use Staples, there’s lots of choice!  Typing ‘copy paper’ into the Give as you Live product search bar brings back 40 available stores e.g.:

Just imagine, if every office in the country used Give as you Live to buy their office stationery, how much could be raised for good causes.  It’s a business expense, so something that has to be purchased to keep the office running smoothly.  If you are responsible for the office purchases, ask your IT team about permitting Give as you Live to be downloaded onto your workstation, and get those mundane office purchases helping your charity!  If you’re not the purchaser, let your colleagues know about Give as you Live and help a charity for free.

If you’ve not already, sign up to Give as you Live and start raising money for your favourite cause with every work purchase you make.
