Changing Faces receives cheque for £1,160.08

Changing Faces chequeSuki and Annabelle from the Give as you Live team were delighted to have the opportunity to present a cheque to James Partridge, CEO of Changing Faces last night at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ Annual Exhibition held at The Royal Galleries in the Mall, London. The £1,160.08 amount was raised by the supporters of the charity simply by shopping online with Give as you Live.

The charity supports and represents people with disfigurements of the face or body from any cause and last night was a very special celebration.

Mark Roscoe, an artist who won UK’s leading disfigurement charity, Changing Faces’, annual portrait prize commission last year has triumphed again at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ Annual Exhibition by scooping the prestigious £10,000 Ondaatje Prize for most distinguished portrait of the year. Mark Roscoe’s portrait of 18-year-old Olivia was commissioned by the charity as part of its strategy to ensure that people with facial disfigurements are represented throughout the arts.

We also enjoyed speeches from James, Lord Julian Fellows, Chris Walker and the very brave and beautiful Harriet Faulkner.  Harriet lost her eye and had needed facial re-construction following a car accident.
