Following the news that we have been shortlisted for an award at the 2018 Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards, we spoke to current Give as you Live apprentice Rachel about her apprenticeship.
“Hi I’m Rachel and I am 19-years-old. I am currently completing a Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship with Give as you Live. I first decided that I would like to do an apprenticeship when I realised that I could learn and gain a qualification in the workplace.
“I came across an advert for an apprenticeship with Give as you Live last year. I love shopping and I am keen to help charities, therefore I decided the company and the job would be right for me.
“I love working for Give as you Live. I really enjoy helping others; knowing that my help and support to our users helps charities makes me happy. I enjoy helping charities grow their funds and supporters on our site; it’s really rewarding watching the community come together to raise funds all through shopping.
“I have already learnt so much from completing an apprentice course with Give as you Live. I have had continuous support from all of my colleagues and I receive excellent help with my apprentice coursework as well as support day-to-day when learning my role.
“After I have finished this apprentice course I would like to complete a higher level apprentice course.
“If I could give any advice to someone who may be considering an apprenticeship I would say just give it a go! It is the best decision I have made with regards to my education and career. An apprenticeship allows you to build your skills as an individual and also allows you to gain a qualification and continue to learn whilst you earn.”
