Join us in making #GivingTuesday the Global Day of Giving

Giving Tuesday

We’re proud to have partnered with #GivingTuesday and are determined to turn December 2nd into a Global Day of Giving. Will you join us?

About #GivingTuesday: “After the sales of Black Friday and the online shopping boom on Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is an opportunity to come together to show the world why it’s good to give. Whether it’s making a donation, volunteering your time or just spreading the word at the start of the Christmas shopping season, #GivingTuesday is a call to action for everyone who wants to give something back.”

We’re delighted to be working with #GivingTuesday to turn the day into a global movement, it’s already a massive success in The United States, Australia, Singapore, Canada, much of Latin America and Israel, but this year it’s time to bring on the Brits!

The 2014 campaign has been launched in the UK by the Charities Aid Foundation with support from Blackbaud and has one purpose – to encourage people, charities and businesses to donate time, money or their voice to help a good cause.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll communicate ways that you can support and benefit from #GivingTuesday, we will have collateral for you to use and exclusive rates from retailers for you to promote to your supporters. It’s all about raising awareness and getting your supporters shopping to raise money for you on December 2nd.

Charities across the UK are supporting #GivingTuesday

World Cancer Research Fund UK are delighted to be a partner of #GivingTuesday. In the week leading up to 2nd December we will be asking people ‘How will you give yours?’, highlighting a different way that people can get involved and support our work each day. Using Give as you Live as you shop online is a fantastic way our supporters can support our vital cancer prevention work at no extra cost as they buy gifts for loved ones this Christmas.’

Tom Ingram, World Cancer Research Fund UK

Deafblind UK is proud to be taking part in #GivingTuesday and on the day we will be raising awareness of our Information and Advice Line – a telephone support service that will be open over Christmas this year for the first time. Many of our most vulnerable deafblind members will be spending the festive season alone and we will be ensuring that they have a point of contact. If they have an emergency such as a burst pipe for example and aren’t sure where to go, our staff will be on hand to offer advice. We will be encouraging supporters to share our message, that a telephone call can be a lifeline for society’s most vulnerable people.’

Claire Fox, Deaf Blind UK

‘We are delighted that RNIB is a founding partner of #GivingTuesday UK this year and we will be taking part in this global movement to help raise awareness of our services and help transform the lives of thousands of people with sight loss. Show your support and help us reach as many people as possible by taking part in RNIB’s innovative new #passtheparcel campaign.’
