Meet Our Apprentice - Will

To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week (4th - 8th March) we spoke to Marketing Apprentice, Will, about his time at Give as you Live so far.

"Hey, I’m Will and I’m 18 years old! I’m currently completing a Marketing Apprenticeship with Give as you Live, a choice I made last year instead of going to University, which has been really beneficial for me.

"I didn’t feel like I was ready for university and didn’t want to commit to Marketing entirely as I had no practical experience in it, and didn’t fully understand it. My apprenticeship has changed that and has only made me more passionate about marketing.

"Give as you Live was the clear choice for me when browsing apprenticeships; the job role itself played to my strengths and the concept of working with charities was really appealing to me - my chosen charity is Dogs Trust because I love animals!

"I’m really enjoying my time at Give as you Live so far. It’s nice to be surrounded by such a supportive team that helps bring out the best in me and allows me to get on with work independently but are always willing to help if I need it.

"My apprenticeship has solidified my interest in marketing and I'm off to University in September! I have much more confidence in my ability to perform at University as having practical experience will give me such a huge benefit when learning in classes.

"My advice for anyone thinking of doing an apprenticeship would be to apply for something you really enjoy and can see yourself getting into a career with – my qualifications weren’t exactly tailored to marketing but I enjoyed it so much more than other subjects so I’m really thankful I applied for something I’m genuinely interested in!"
