As a single traveller I have recently been converted to the joys of coach trips. Last year I went to Lake Garda in Italy, and had an amazing time touring the lake and visiting Verona, Venice and the Dolomites.
After boring my family with about 100 photos this last year, I thought it was about time to find some new material to torture them with.
This year I am going to tour around the Rhine, Bavaria and the Black Forest. The tour promise many beautiful castles, including Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, so I am very excited.
Whilst it would be nice to think that I could use some Star Trek style futuristic technology to take me there instantaneously, I am afraid to say that there will be some boring travelling involved. Last year I took a whole host of technology designed to keep me amused, but I did find myself looking enviously at the woman next to me chortling at Sex and the City on her DVD player.
So as I seem to be becoming a regular coach traveller, I thought I would treat myself this year and invest in a portable DVD player. After browsing on Amazon, I found the Sony DVPFX770B which seemed to fit the bill and ordered it online through Give as you Live. I added a DVD case to protect it, and earphones so I don’t annoy all of the other passengers.
All in all the purchases raised £3.12 for my charity NSPCC, which brings my Give as you Live donations up to £22.69 since November. I have received notification that they have been dispatched already, so all I have to do is wait for my holiday now.
