A Guest post from Mummy Barrow: Going on holiday has been the perfect time for me to carry on supporting Victim Support with my Give as You Live Donations. Although we don’t pay for our accommodation, as it’s owned by my family, we have still managed to raise much-needed funds by getting all our “holiday essentials” online.
Both my son and daughter insisted on new clothes and swimming costumes. As these holiday preparations coincide with the end-of-term madness and my busiest period at work, it was so easy to do all the shopping online, in the evening, when I had some time to think.
Thrilled with the purchases
And… well, I couldn’t resist ordering a few new things from my firm favourite Simply Be.
£13.34 with just one item
The best purchase we made, however, was our travel insurance. Using Direct Travel Insurance we raised a whopping £13.34 because they offer an enormous 10%! In fact, I chose them over some of the more well-known, household names, purely because they offered the highest percentage.
The Give As You Live storefront makes it so easy to see just how much retailers offer, so you can see at a glance who will earn your good cause the most money.
All our suntan creams and other toiletries were bought via Boots, earning us another 4% – and given that four of us were going for three weeks that all soon added up.
Much-needed money for your chosen charity
My eldest daughter has stayed at home to look after the house so I made sure the fridge and freezer were all well-stocked – using Sainsburys online, of course!
Even my holiday reading was all bought via Waterstones. As an avid reader (I have nine books for this trip) I didn’t feel guilty as I added “just one more” to the pile.
So, as you can see, it really is easy to earn much-needed money for your chosen charity, even when you’re on holiday. You can help me raise even more money for Victim Support by signing up to Give as you Live: just go to www.give.as/mummybarrow and click ‘Discover Give as you Live’.
