Small Charities Week - All You Need to Know
Here's what you need to know...
Small Charities Week runs this year from 18th to 23rd June, which gives plenty of time to prepare. The full week has different activities running on each day to help raise the profile of small charities and to celebrate everything that they do - with a view to raising vital further funds from new supporters.
On the 18th, the event will focus on PR and awareness-raising of the small charities in the UK, who will be able to enter for a cash prize as part of a national competition. The 19th is the Big Advice Day, when charities will be able to speak with experts who can help them to reach their goals.
On Wednesday, Policy Day will include a large policy event in Westminster and other smaller events across the UK which will give charities the chance to talk to government ministers about the issues that matter to them and to influence policy.
Thursday is fundraising day, which gives the public a chance to donate to great causes that they feel strongly about - and a strong platform for small UK charities to get noticed! Friday and Saturday are devoted to celebrating the impact of small charities and will round up the outcomes of the week.
So how can you support the event itself? There are plenty of details available, with an events calendar and social media feeds to follow: http://smallcharityweek.com/
Support Your Favourite Charities via Give As You Live
But you can also support your favourite small charity without it even costing you a penny by registering for free and clicking through the Give as you Live site when you carry out your online shopping as usual.
Simply find the retailers that you usually use online and then click through via the Give as you Live link for a donation sum to be generated for the charity that you choose at your registration point. It costs you nothing and takes no more time than a simple click!
You'll be amazed at how quickly the funds can rack up for the causes that you feel passionately about just by carrying out your usual activities such as buying groceries and clothes online, shopping for insurance or financial products, booking holidays and travel and buying gifts. The whole process takes around five minutes to register your own private account, from where you'll be able to track the progress of your fundraising activities!
And remember that it costs nothing to set up your account, and you'll pay nothing to raise funds for the charity that you want to support when you click through via the Give as you Live account - it couldn't be easier or quicker to help UK causes to raise vital funds. Why not share the news about this amongst your family and friends and magnify the benefits?
