Still Time to Book a Family Half-Term Break in England

There’s still time to plan a family break for this February half term, and an English destination is the ideal choice if you don’t want to waste time travelling too far (or simply can’t face the hassle of overseas travel).

For a traditional family break that kids still love today, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Butlins. There are still vacancies in Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness, and prices start from as little as £55 per person for three nights. During your stay you might even get the chance to see a performance by street-dance group Diversity. Now that’s better than your average holiday camp entertainment, isn’t it?

If you fancy getting active this holiday, you’re in for a treat at Centre Parcs. You can swim and cycle to your heart’s content. Better still, you can sit around the pool and pretend you’ve travelled to warmer climes. There are plenty of activities to get the adrenalin pumping or treatments to help the grown-ups wind down. There are crafts for kids and plenty of entertainment that the whole family can enjoy. It’s not the cheapest option, but it’s great value considering the amount of fun you can have.

For a great-value trip, Pontins are offering late February half-term deals that could cost as little as £59 per apartment. That’s almost cheaper than staying at home. You can choose between accommodation at Brean Sands, Camber Sands, Prestatyn Sands, Southport and Pakefield, but all of the camps offer a bumper package of family entertainment, helped along by the world-renowned Blue Coats crew. Alternatively, how about a trip to Parkdean Holidays site? There are six to choose from this half term, and prices start at £119. There are kids’ clubs and options for teenagers too, as well as plenty of opportunities for the grown-ups to relax.

If park life is not for you, there are still plenty of holiday cottages to rent this half term, or perhaps you might enjoy an idyllic forest lodge complete with your own hot tub. If that sounds a little too quiet, there’s still the chance to book a magical Legoland Holiday or to give the bigger kids the ride of their lives at Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventure or a Stay and Play package at the Drayton Manor Theme Park. Whatever you choose, have a fantastic time!
