The scariest film I have ever watched in my life…ever

Meet Jess, our Entertainment blogger

Once upon a time I used to lay in my bed and read ‘True Horror Stories’ with a torch and scare myself to sleep. I reached about 13 years old when I’d scared myself so much that I refused to watch horror films and read terrifying books for all my teenage years.

Eventually the curiosity crept back in and there I am sat in the cinema chucking popcorn at my face watching The Last Exorcism. It’s not that I enjoy being scared (trust me refusing to go upstairs by yourself at 20 years old is not cool), I suppose it’s proving to myself I’m brave enough to watch the film, even if I’m not brave enough to go upstairs by myself!

Anyway, last year I decided to watch The Fourth Kind… well that was a big mistake. It reverted me back to my 13 year old self, too scared to sleep in my own bed and a good 3 weeks lying with the light on, point blank refusing to sleep.

It’s about alien abduction, the “true story” and the use of “real” footage makes it an unbelievably scary film. I swore I would never watch it again, but the curiously crept its way back in and I bought it? Strange.

Of course, I bought it through Give as you Live from HMV – it was only £5.99 for a Blu-ray version with free postage and packaging making it a pretty good deal. It raised 12p for Tommy’s, who I’m running a marathon for.

So if you’re a sucker for a scary film, check out HMV for some great deals on Blu-rays and DVDs, you could pick up a few horrors just in time for Halloween.

What’s the scariest film you’ve ever seen?

Note- I haven’t brought myself to watch it again as of yet, it’s just sat on the shelf.

[…] say it was the most terrified I have ever been…apart from when I watched The Fourth Kind, but that’s a whole other story. I was 18 when I saw it and that night I stayed in my Mums bed, so yeah, that’s how scary it […]
