Building Block by Block
Minecraft’s randomly generated virtual worlds consist of big blocks of dirt, sand, stone and a variety of other materials. The challenge is to creatively rearrange and build a world that suits you, whether it is skyscrapers, tree houses or any other construct that you desire. You’ll start by having to hand-craft every block once it’s been collected in the open world, but you’ll soon progress to speeding up the process using the resources and tools available. Minecraft is all about building things up, and you can also learn a skill that lets you enchant objects, start a garden, sail a boat, set up electrics and other useful activities.
Minecraft has two modes, and during the day when the sun is up you’ll be focused on industry. However, when the sun goes down, the monsters come out to play. It's initially rather scary, but once you have gathered the necessary objects to ward them off you should cope well, until you head deeper underground and uncover hidden lairs that pose even more challenges. These monsters can be formidable and destroy everything you have created, so it’s suggested you make use of the PS feature of allowing up to eight other players to join your world, ensuring you always have an ally.
Minecraft offers players so many possibilities, and it’s possibly the most versatile game of this generation. It's a game for passionate next-generation console creatives. In Minecraft if you can dream it, you can probably build it, and even learning to fly is a possibility.show less
