IoF day one – Pressing issues & high potential opportunities in the charity sector

Yesterday afternoon, on the first day of the Institute of Fundraising’s National Convention, members of the Give as you Live team met with several journalists from charity publications to discuss some of the pressing issues and high potential opportunities in the charity sector.

Mike Rowlands, a plenary speaker at the IoF who has flown over from Canada especially for the IoF this week, previewed some of the topics he’ll be discussing his speech this afternoon, including the trend toward multi-party collaborations in the face of larger scale issues, the development of social enterprises as direct and indirect impact organizations, and the challenges and opportunities inherent in adapting to social media-driven openness and transparency. Mike has a collection of informative case studies he’ll be discussing during his plenary address, so if you’re attending the IoF today, please join him at 2.15pm in the Buckingham Suite. If you’re not attending this year and want to hear Mike’s top tips, we’ll be posting a series of blogs and uploading a video of his speech. Mike is also monitoring the #MikeKnows hashtag on Twitter, so use that to ask your questions.
