Charity Spotlight: Border Collie Trust Great Britain

Rhea was a dog who came to us in 2007 having been found as a stray and subsequently found a new home

It’s Charity Tuesday, and this week Border Collie Trust Great Britain are in our spotlight.

The charity aims to help as many Border Collies as possible. They rescue and re-home the dogs from all over the UK, with the hope that they will go on to live a much happier life with their new owners.

Border Collie Trust GB have reached 31 shoppers, and these supporters have raised £300.05 so far through their online shopping – without it costing them any extra.

This unrestricted revenue will go a long way in helping the charity care for the dogs at the centre. With annual sponsorship fees at £60, this amount could sponsor a dog for five years!

They have achieved this success through a variety of different channels. They have a Give as you Live button on the homepage of their website, they have featured it in their e-newsletter, and they also post regular messages on Twitter and Facebook.

Ben Wilkes is a Trustee at the charity. Here’s what he thinks about Give as you Live:
“Give as You Live is an excellent fundraising opportunity for charities and groups of any size. Easy to use, it provides supporters access to thousands of online stores and every purchase sees valuable funds being raised. It couldn’t be simpler. With online offers also available it can indeed save you money yet still raise money for your favourite cause – what could be better?”

The charity is now working hard to reach 50 shoppers. Help them to get to their target by going to www.giveasyoulive.com/join/bctgb and clicking ‘Discover Give as you Live’.
