Last year’s British Designer of the Year, Bethan Gray, is so confident about the style and structure offered by her furniture that her own home is full of it. Sadly, you are unlikely to get a personal invite to that particular West London abode, but you could join the thousands of people who are flocking to view items in her pop-up shop in Harrods, launched last month as part of the London Design Festival.

These pieces are ideal for those who share Bethan’s fondness for natural materials, along with a combination of modern technology and traditional craftsmanship. Her Design Trail collaboration with Harrods is testament to her love of the unique nature of wood, marble and leather, as well as her desire to use both modern and traditional production methods to create on-trend, yet timeless designs.

This focus is used in all of her collections, now widely available online and in exclusive furniture stores. The items may look simple in design, but there is a classic quality that is undeniable, whether you want a walnut and leather side table or a stunning collection of table-top accessories. If you want to see the Harrods collaboration collection, simply head on down to the iconic London store. Just make sure you don’t leave it too long, as it will only be there until January 2015.

Alternatively, check out Bethan Gray pieces at John Lewis, including a stunning Noah Table Lamp and the pricey but beautiful Noah 2 Door, 3 Drawer Sideboard. These are all undeniably designer pieces but are as practical as they are stunning.
